The National Convention and Exhibition Center (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. was established in July 2011. It is a joint venture formed by the China Foreign Trade Centre (Group) (hereinafter referred to as the 'Foreign Trade Centre Group') and the Shanghai Donghao Lansheng International Service Trade (Group) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as the 'Donghao Lansheng Group'), representing both the Ministry and the City according to the Framework Agreement for the Joint Construction of the National Exhibition Project signed by the Ministry of Commerce and Shanghai Municipality. The company is responsible for the investment, construction, operation of the national exhibition project, development of exhibitions, etc.
The registered capital of the National Convention and Exhibition Center (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. is 7.5 billion yuan, with the Foreign Trade Centre Group holding 60% and the Donghao Lansheng Group holding 40%. The shareholder composition highlights the strong combination of industry resources and operational advantages in the exhibition industry. The Foreign Trade Centre Group has rich experience in hosting the twice-a-year China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair); the Donghao Lansheng Group is the first professional service trade enterprise group in China, playing a significant role in the bidding, preparation, and hosting of the Shanghai World Expo. Its many years of market-oriented operations have formed advantages in human resources, exhibition communication, trade services, and other aspects. The total construction area of the National Convention Project is 1.47 million square meters, with 400,000 square meters of indoor exhibition halls and 100,000 square meters of outdoor exhibition grounds, equipped with a 150,000-square-meter commercial center, 180,000 square meters of office facilities, and a 60,000-square-meter five-star hotel. It aims to become the world's largest, most advanced, and most competitive exhibition complex.
